To keep the kitchen clean, you want to start by keeping it organize and free from clutter. Move anything and everything out of the kitchen that does not belong there. Look through your cabinets, cupboards and shelves and decide how you can better organize the things that do belong in the kitchen. If everything is organized, you will be able to keep everything clean a lot easier. Once you have gone through everything and organized, it is time to start cleaning the dirt, grime and everything else that has been building up in your kitchen.Gather all of your cleaning supplies. Think about everything that you will be cleaning in the kitchen and gather it all up. When all of your cleaning supplies are gathered in one spot in the kitchen, you will save yourself a lot of time. Everything will be in reach and you will have a harder time forgetting to clean something in particular if the cleaning supplies for it are looking right at you.

Start with a deep clean.

Wipe down the ceiling and the walls to clear them of any dust or sticky residue that could be lingering. You will also clean the windows as well. Next, you will want to attack every inch of your counters, your floors, drawers, cupboards, handles, table and anything else you have in the kitchen. Disinfect everything so that no more germs can be present. You do not want to be careful when deep cleaning though. Make sure that the chemicals you use will not land on your dishes, silverware, glasses or any fruit you have sitting out. You might want to research non-toxic cleaning agents for the kitchen work. There are many non-toxic cleaners out there. If you are on a budget or super concerned about toxins, you can make your own cleaning solution at home. There are many recipes for cleaners on the Internet that you can make use of.

You also want to remove all blinds and draperies that you have hanging up in the kitchen.

Wash these completely before returning them to your kitchen. While the draperies are washing, you can clean the oven by using the self-cleaning option. You can also run the dishwasher empty, only after adding some baking soda to the dishwasher instead of the dish soap. Then, while the oven and the dishwasher are cleaning themselves, you can attack the refrigerator and throw out all of the old food. Check all of the expiration dates on the things you do want to keep, just to stay on the safe side. While you are in there, remove everything and scrub the inside of the refrigerator.

Once you are all done, make sure that you are giving yourself a reward.

This way, you will work a little faster and a little harder to make sure that you get everything done. The reward will also prevent you from turning a two-hour project into a weekend project. Treat yourself out to dinner with the family or go to the movies. If that does not interest you, head to the mall and buy that outfit you have been wanting. For those low on cash, your reward could be to send everyone else out of the house and relax in a nice hot bubble bath.

After it is all said and done, you will realize that the whole process moved a lot faster than you probably thought.

As long as you are organized, attack the room with a plan, and have a treat for yourself so that you see a light at the end of the tunnel, you will be just fine. The next time the kitchen is ready for a big deep clean, you will be ready to go, knowing that it really isn’t all that bad of a process to deal with.
